Roero Arneis DOCG (sur lie) - 2021 - Gianni Gagliardo

The Roero Arneis by Gianni Gagliardo is straw yellow in color with greenish hues, with an aroma of exotic fruits and ripe pears, notes of hawthorn blossom and acacia honey. On the palate, the wine is pleasant and round, soft, fine-sparkling, sweet and of an acidity that gives the finish freshness and spice. During the short sur lie aging, the yeast is constantly kept moving.

Sur Lie comes from French and is used for white wines that have been stored and bottled for up to several months on the yeast residues produced during fermentation. The method of Hefesatzlagerung was already known and widely used by the ancient Romans.
