Fallegro Favorita Langhe DOC (sur lie) - 2021 - Gianni Gagliardo

The Fallegro Favorita (Piedmontese name for Vermentino) by Gianni Gagliardo is very fresh with a slightly salty note. He has a particularly intense and lively character, which has a good aging potential in the bottle. Malolactic fermentation is not performed on the Fallegro to preserve as much freshness as possible. During the short "sur lie" aging, the yeast is constantly kept moving.

Sur Lie comes from French and is used for white wines that have been stored and bottled for up to several months on the yeast residues produced during fermentation. The method of Hefesatzlagerung was already known and widely used by the ancient Romans. Serving suggestions: served cool, this wine is a great aperitif. At table, it goes well with starters of fish, light pasta and risotto.
